After getting into skincare and doing some research it was inevitable to run into some korean skincare brands. Cosrx was the first one I came across and what sold it to me was the ingredient-oriented product development with high concentrations of active ingredients.
Cosrx is a korean brand founded in 2014. COSRX aims for eliminating any unnecessary ingredients and minimizing the length of ingredient labelling by only including the very essential, natural, and healthful ingredients. Moreover, most of the products are mainly dissolved in natural extract rather than purified water to amplify the effect of natural active ingredients used.
Though they do not come in fancy bottles, COSRX products’ prescription (rx) is formulated carefully to aid each of our customers to treat their skin problems. The name Cosrx is derived from the words “cosmetics,” and “rx” which stands for prescription, coming from 13 years of customer based data about their skin concerns, product satisfaction, and popular ingredients.
Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser
I love this Cosrx Good Morning cleanser! It was my first korean skincare purchase and I fell in love with it. It removes impurities, while hydrating and restoring the skin’s natural pH. It has an ideal pH of 5~6 which doesn’t disrupt your skin’s natural balance.
The key ingredient is tea tree oil so it’s also good for acne prone skin. It has a clear jelly kind of a texture and it slightly foams up when mixed with water. It’s suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive and dry skin.
Cosrx Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser
My most recent purchase is this Cosrx Salicylic Cleanser because my skin has been playing me lately. It’s a more creamy cleanser with 0.5% of salicylic acid as key ingredient. It removes impurities and sebum, reduces acne and breakouts.
The texture is thicker than the Good Morning cleanser’s and it looks more like a cream than a cleanser. It leaves your skin super soft. This one is more suitable for oily and acne prone skin.
Cosrx Galactomyces Alcohol-Free Toner
Also a more recent purchase because of a recommendation of a fellow blogger. I normally use The Ordinary Glycolic Acid toner, but have been trying the Cosrx Galactomyces Toner out as well. It nourishes and hydrates the skin, making it more radiant and clear.
Fun fact about galactomyces – it’s actually a type of fungus. It’s anti-aging benefits were discovered in Japan’s sake brewery, when they realized that elderly brewers had smooth and wrinkle-free hands unlike their faces. After years of research, they discovered that Aspergillus Oryzae is used during the brewing process, which dramatically delays signs of aging. Since then researchers have discovered galactomyces, which is similar and also has incredible anti-aging capabilities.
Key Ingredients in this toner are 82% Jeju Mineral Water and 10% Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate. It is suitable for all skin types, especially dull and aging skin.
This is all for this post, I hope you learned something new and will try out some of Cosrx’s products! See you soon x @aliciasimonic
