Ariana Grande perfumes is a new-ish brand. The first perfume was released in 2015. They were made in collaboration with perfumers Jérôme Epinette and Clement Gavarry, but Ariana Grande is involved in the process of making the perfumes as well. Ariana’s perfumes are a perfect mix of fruity, floral and sweet scents.
To be honest, I first heard of this perfume through TikTok. I usually stay away from celebrity perfumes as they’re usually cheaper, not very long lasting and only a part of their merch. Ariana’s perfume is an exception though. The smell is very irresistible and intoxicating, definitely not something you’d expect from a “merch perfume”. It went viral on social media due to its resemblance of the famous Baccarat Rouge 540 Maison Francis Kurkdjian that’s way more expensive than Ariana’s Cloud.
The top notes are a mix of floral and fruity scents – the soft lavender, sweet pear and bergamot. These notes definitely stand out on first spray. Middle notes are a bit sweeter, chocolatey and delicious – whipped cream, praline, coconut and a touch of florals with the sweet vanilla orchid. These are more noticeable after it dries down a bit. They work incredible with the base notes of musk and wood, which add the depth to the perfume. I think the base notes really tie it all together so well. I’m not a big fan of floral perfumes, so without the musk and wood I would probably not like this perfume as much as I do.
Ariana Grande Cloud is a perfect balance of freshness, sweetness and woodiness. It’s such a unique smell that without knowing the notes I could not identify the ingredients. At first it’s really soft, sweet and fruity, it reminds me of walking into a Victoria’s secret store and smelling all the scents at once. After a while it evolves into a deeper, more complex scent. The musk and woodiness start to come out and give it that much needed depth. It smells like a combination of sweet praline with a touch of wood on me.
