Fall is here and with winter just around the corner, that means our skin will need more love and attention. If you have a combination type skin like me, you know that means dry skin in the winter. To make sure your skin stays moisturised and happy, you can switch to a more “hardcore” moisture and adding oil as an extra step as well. Let’s discuss some of my favourite fall and winter face creams.
Let me start off with my absolute favourite cream. I have been using the Pyungkang Yul Nutrition cream and the Moisturizing cream for at least the past 3 years. It’s the perfect cream for my skin, not heavy but also not too light. I use the Moisturising version in the summer and the Nutrition version in the fall/winter months. I like to mix it with some face oil as well for that extra hydration.
This cream contains shea butter, macadamia oil and pea extract, all great ingredients for adding skin moisture.
CeraVe is a more affordable option with different creams to chose from, depending on your skin type. I like the SA Soothing Cream when my skin feels really dry and I need some extra hydration. It contains 10% of Urea that helps lock moisture in skin, as well as salicylic acid and LHA that help remove the dry flakes off your skin. It also contains three essential ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. The perfect cream to sooth your skin on cold, winter days.
Another Korean skincare brand, this time Holika Holika, a brand I got to know when I tried their sheet masks. This Good Cera moisture cream is amazing for winter. It contains ceramides for preventing moisture loss, as well as yeast extract that stimulates the formation of collagen. It also contains shea butter and aloe vera, a great mix of ingredients to keep your skin hydrated.
